The Honorable Alex Bores
Alex Bores for Congress
1617 Third Ave, Unit 286569
New York, NY 10128

Dear Assemblyman Bores:

On behalf of Animal Wellness Action (AWA), a national policy and political organization dedicated to strengthening and advancing legal protections for animals, we are pleased to endorse your campaign for election to Congress in New York’s 12th Congressional District.

We are favorably impressed with your responses to every question on our Animal Wellness Action Federal Policy Questionnaire. Your responses are clearly aligned with the strong record on animal welfare and protection issues you have compiled in the New York State Assembly.

During your service in Albany, you have built an impressive body of legislative work, sponsoring important policy reforms to promote non-animal alternatives to animal testing, strengthen animal shelter requirements, enhance humane education, prohibit the use of glue traps, and implement bird-friendly building practices. In a relatively short period of time, you have demonstrated a strong leadership role on animal protection issues.

A profound respect for the humane treatment of animals is a core value shared by Americans across the political spectrum. How we treat animals is a powerful reflection of our character as a society, and evidence consistently shows that acts of animal cruelty are frequently linked with broader patterns of violence and antisocial behavior that threaten public safety. By standing against these abuses, you are helping to make communities safer and uphold fundamental standards of common decency.

You have communicated to us your commitment to championing animal protection issues in Congress if elected. For these reasons, Animal Wellness Action is proud to endorse your campaign in the general election for New York’s 12th Congressional District. We look forward to working with you to advance strong, bipartisan animal protection policies in the 120th Congress.

Sincerely,

Wayne Pacelle
President
Animal Wellness Action
